I'll admit it. I've been living under a rock or something. I heard The Ataris for the first time @ Newtown RSL and what can I say... they fucken rocked! As far as I'm concerned they blew MxPx off the stage. Don't know what it was... they just had this anthemic quality about them that made me go "holy shit!"
Missed ODS because I spent so goddamn long downstairs trying to get passed the Nazi security guy with the two word vocabulary: "No cameras." I don't think I need to go on.
Thumbs up to The Ataris for their stage antics: crowd surfing (with guitars) and setting fire to guitars are always good crowd pleasers.
Reputed nice guys of punk, MxPx were on stage as I was doing some video stuff for Planet X, but what I saw of their set was very impressive. They get my vote with their "Summer Of '69" cover. Yes, that was a Bryan Addams song - shut up. They say they don't drink or take drugs. So that's how they afford all those tats that they've got.
